October 2000
22 October - VCR Alert!!! CHER is going to be on the Radio Music Awards on ABC on November 4th at 8pm eastern time! Don't miss it!
21 October - Here is an article from this week's "People Magazine" showing a picture of Cher's new jewelry line, designed by the same person that designs the rings on Cher's web site - Loree Rodkin! [click here for a larger picture]

Check out www.loreerodkin.com. It includes several pictures of Cher wearing Loree's rings. Copy says:
"I know what Cher wears to bed - nothing - except for a $15,000 Gothic-style ring adorned with pavé-diamond shield by LA jewelry designer Loree"

I love my Cher Caesar Band Ring designed by Loree, even more now!

21 October - VCR Alert!!! CHER to appear on 'Will & Grace' on November 16th.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Cher, who is sometimes a topic of conversation on television's Will & Grace, will make an appearance on the NBC comedy next month.

Playing herself, Cher will meet one of her biggest, most obsessed fans: Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes). The actress-singer filmed her cameo in the episode, called Gypsies, Tramps and Weeds, on Tuesday.

Will & Grace, which airs Thursday nights, received the best comedy series Emmy in September. The episode with Cher is scheduled for Nov. 16.

18 October - Cher will release her Internet-only album "Not Commercial", on Nov. 8 at Cher's official Web site ( www.cher.com ). Cher has written most of the tracks herself. You can preorder it at www.cher.com. Three of the CD's have a gold ticket included. The 3 luck people will be invited to London to have dinner with Cher! Wow! I've ordered mine - have you?

Rumors report that Cher's official follow-up to Believe will likely be released in March 2001.
16 October - Very rarely do we actually see Cher's real hair. In the October 2000 issue of "Allure" is a beautiful picture of today's Cher..with her real hair! The articles says: "In beauty, Cher will try anything. She's not afraid. She's fearless. This look took 20 minutes. Cher's wearing blue contact lenses. That sort of changes everything. I like how she's looking off, sort of wistfully. And that's her hair - everyone is so used to seeing her in wigs - but that's her black Armenian hair. I used foundation very lightly, liquid blush, gloss, curled lashes, mascara, cream shadow, brushed brows. And that's all." Kevyn Aucoin. Makeup by Kevyn Aucoin and Hair by Roberto DiCuia.

15 October - Today I bought this 20"x 24" portrait of Cher. When I got home I searched for the corresponding photo. It is from the "Heart of Stone" CD. To me, for some reason, it doesn't really look like Cher. Maybe it is the mouth or eyes or something? Good I didn't pay so much for it. What do you guys think?

July 2000

5 July
- Below is an excerpt from an email we received from the band Majic Ship:

"Cher made a guest vocal appearance on a recording of a Mick Jagger/Keith Richards song called "Tell Me (You're Coming Back)" at the request of (and as a favor to) her longtime friend and crew member Mike "Beefboy" Garrigan. Beefboy has worked for Cher on all of her tours since 1990 and even played acoustic guitar offstage for some of the songs on her recent "Believe" tour. The name of the CD that this very rare performance appears on is "Songwaves Project" by the band Majic Ship. There are also several current and former Cher band members that appear on the CD as well. Pattie Darcy Jones, Mark Lennon, El Erin and Dennis Thomas all sing backup vocals, Dave Amato plays guitar and Ron Wikso plays drums. Pattie and Dennis have worked with Cher on all her tours since 1989 and Dave and Ron worked with her from 1989 to 1998 (Pattie, Dave and Ron can also be seen (and heard) on Cher's "Live from The Mirage" concert video that was taped in 1990). Mark and El worked with her from 1992 to 1998. Dave and Ron also produced the Songwaves Project CD. If you would like to check out the website for Majic Ship, please go to www.majicship.com . Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Mike "Beefboy" Garrigan Tom Nikosey Ron Wikso Dave Amato"

June 2000

3 June
- Hello fellow Cher fans. Today was a great Cher day for me. I took a break from refurbishing the EverythingCher web site and drove up into the north Georgia mountains to visit some antique and flea markets. One flea market I visited looked like it was about ready to fall down cause it was so old. One of the vendors stalls had a few records in an old box. I decided to stop and see if by chance there were any old Cher records in the box. I gave it about a 2.3% chance. As I was flipping pass the "Andy Williams" and "Sing Along With Mitch" records, my eyes quickly recognized a familiar record cover - it was the all famous - Cher "Stars" album. Next was Cher's "Foxy Lady" and then a new record for me - "I'd Rather Believe In You" by Cher. I stopped in amazement that I had found 3 Cher records in one place. I shyly asked the Georgia mountain-looking man, how much he wanted for these records. I almost fell over when he said $1.00 apiece. I dug in my jean's pocket and quickly produced three crumpled dollar bills. He put my newly found prized treasures into an Old Navy bag and I left with a great big smile on my face. All three records are in mint condition! No scratches. Can you believe it?

The Cher record "I'd Rather Believe In You" has the following songs:
Side 1
  • Long Distance Love Affair
  • I'd Rather Believe In You
  • I Know (You Don't Love Me)
  • Silver Wings & Golden Rings
  • Flashback
  • Side 2
    • It's A Cryin' Shame
    • Early Morning Strangers
    • Knock On Wood
    • Spring
    • Borrowed Time
  • The album was produced by Warner Bros. Records Inc. 1976.

We will be adding a pictue of the album cover to the 1970-1980 Music page.
  • June 2 - Today we uploaded the refurbished www.everythingcher.com web site to change from a frames-based site to a non-frames based site. We hope you like the new look. Please email us if you encounter any problems. We have tried to debug all the leftover formating changes but we may have missed a few unconnected links or pages that open incorrectly.

The three sentences were: "What do Cher, Tom Cruise and 'Cats' have in common?" and "Though now openly gay, he dated Cher and was instrumental in her divorce from Sonny bono..." and "David Geffen had met Mr. Lennon only once, on a bizzarre evening in 1975 when the two men soaked in Hugh Hefner's hot tube at the Playboy Mansion, along with Cher and another singer." The caption under the picture reads, "Geffen and Cher dress up for a night out in 1974." The photography by Dan Forer captures the majestic qualities of Cher's unique style. The photos include family pictures by the bed to the majestic columns in the entrance hall and gives a wonderful snapshot into the environment that Cher created.

For those of you who missed it - we have scanned the 10 page article and posted it on EverythingCher for your reading pleasure. The pages take a minute to download but the wait is worth it. Enjoy!
