A studio called Gold Star, an engineer named
Stan Ross, and 15 musicians who are always
late, are the main ingredients for Cher's third
album - in fact, to all our albums. They are the
people behind the scenes. Although their names
never appear on the records they are as important
as the producer and the artist in making a hit.
A recording session takes three hours. The same
song is played over and over as many as 30 times.
And each time the producer asks for more. And
each time they give more. This album, along with
our thanks, is dedicated to them.
Now, at the risk of sounding prejudiced, I must add
that I am especially proud of Cher. For each song
in this album, I asked her to pour out her heart and
soul - she did.
