| Movie Review In this very dark comedy a wife of twenty years receives an unusual gift for her anniversary--her husband has hired a hit-man to kill her. Things don't go quite as planned, though, when the hired gun and his bound target end up bonding with each other. Chazz Palminteri adapted the screenplay from his own stage play. Margaret and Jack O'Donnel have been married for 20 years. Apparently that's 20 years too long for Jack, who has hired a hitman, Tony, to kill his wife. While Jack is out of town, Tony goes to the O'Donnel home to murder Margaret. Instead, the pair end up having a long conversation, covering a wide range of topics. In the process, Tony and Margaret become attracted to each other, and have sex. Afterwards, Tony is unable to kill Margaret, a fact he neglects to tell Jack. How will Jack -- and Margaret -- react when the former returns home? And what role will Tony now play in their lives? "20 years ago, Jack and Margaret said, `till death do us part.' Tonight they close the deal." |
