October 17th, 1999, MTV aired an episode of "Celebrity Deathmatch" starring Cher versus Bette Midler. Cher fought with classic Cher-style, evading Bette with all her quick moves and fast quotes. But this is after all "MTV" and since Cher (for some reason) is not so popular with MTV executives - Cher lost the fight.   As she was going down, her thoughts were with her fans and her 'comeback' career. Now, if this match were on VH1, I am sure the outcome would be different. Long live Cher!
